Since established only 8 years ago, LUCY KIM Corporation has continuously studied and developed the universal fashion for disabled or aged people and understood its absolute necessities through many exhibitions. Over the past years, we have focused on developing the clothes for physically disabled region and the remaining body regions of disabled and aged people and the functional clothes for old aged females who have difficulties in putting on or taking off clothes due to physical changes or lowering of its functions by analyzing their body types, studying patterns of their clothing and adding functions. Without consideration of physical changes or required clothing sizes of older people, ready-made clothes in Korea mostly are made in smaller sizes than required, not easy to move around in and even at high risk of pelvic fracture because of possibly falling down from getting clothes caught. Pelvic fracture may lead to living in the bed which also may result in dementia. Therefore, we studied the body types of aged people and produced the functional clothes that can make up for physical weakness, underwear that can prevent pelvic fracture and the clothes for aged people with dementia. Our clothes designed to put on or take off easily or move around freely are attracting high positive interest from the advanced countries including Japan that is already an aging society, USA that provides welfare for disabled and aged people and Korea as well. Considering that the world goes toward an aging society, there is a good outlook for a universal fashion and there will be a high demand even in Korea that shows increases in the senile population and care facilities for aged people. LUCY KIM Corporation, which analyzes disabled body region and body types of disabled or aged people and develops suitable clothing patterns, will be an innovative clothing company for aged people and their convalescence.
